Keep It Moving!

It is so easy to get paralyzed by everything happening in the world, from the pandemic to our own issues and trials. We start to reminisce about the past and how things were better, even if they really weren’t. Fear keeps us from moving forward because we don’t know what lies ahead. Fear rushes us into paralysis analysis as we swirl and our eyes are blind to what the future holds.

Living in constant fear is deadly to the body and to the mind. It takes its toll as it weakens your immune system, attacks your cardiovascular system and wreaks havoc on your muscles and nerves. It takes a toll on your mind as you can’t trust your judgment. Your emotions race like a fast moving roller coaster sucking out your breath. Life is seen through negative lenses and anything positive is the enemy. Stay in fear long enough, and you’ll never move from the past.

How many times did the Israelites get afraid and ask to go back to Egypt? They were paralyzed, afraid to move to freedom and a new life. They talked about how much better it was under slavery. Really? But isn’t that what we do too? In fact, they were so entrenched in fear that they even heard the horses of Pharoah coming after them when they were nowhere around! They were swirling in their own paranoia and fear.

What fear is keeping you from moving? What took you down and put you in “stuck?” Realize this, staying stuck in fear robs you of opportunity and blessings. Staying stuck gives the enemy just what he wants—you. Your blessing may be right in front of you but because of your fear, you can’t see it or see the one who is ready to help you.

The Lord wants you to move. He is waiting for you to take that step of faith and move that one foot. Once you place that foot in front of you, it is easier to move the other foot. Listen to what happened when the Israelites were stuck by fear.

“Moses answered the people, ‘Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The Lord will fight for you, you need only to be still.  Then the Lord said to Moses, ‘Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israielites to move on.’” Exodus 14:13-14

What was the Lord saying to Moses then and to us today? He’s basically telling us not to be afraid because He will deliver us. He’s saying that the fear we have today, whatever that fear is, we’ll never see it again. Why? Because the Lord fights for us. We just have to be still and have faith in Him. He challenges us by saying we should stop being stuck, crying and worrying. Just move! Although the path is unclear, just believe and move. He’ll do the rest when you step out.

“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.” Romans 8:35, 37

Prayer

Lord,

HALLELUJAH! I raise a hallelujah before You. I lift up Your mighty name. JESUS! There is power and authority in Your name. In the name of Jesus, I am bold. I am courageous. I am strong. I am victorious. I am more than a conqueror. I am not afraid because Your perfect love drives fear out of me. I take captive every thought that is not of You. I praise You every morning because Your mercy is made new for me. You have renewed my mind and freed me from the chains of bondage, strongholds, and addictions that were created to hold me back and keep me down. No weapon formed against will prosper because I am Your child. Hallelujah, I am Your child. I will march against the enemy and take back what He has stolen from me. I take back my peace. I take back my health. I take back my strength. I take back my hope. I take back my loved ones. I take back freedom. My battle is not against people but against the devil, the enemy of my soul that comes to steal, kill, and destroy. Against him I will move in the mighty  and victorious name of Jesus. AMEN!
