Jeanne Berg's Testimony
I have always been surrounded by Christians. My mother was the church organist and my grandfather was a Deacon, so it was an easy step when at the age of 12,
I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior.
He never left me, but during one 10-year period, I was "off and on", not putting Him first.
In 1971, I was on the verge of a divorce from a cheating, non-supportive husband when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. As I underwent a radical mastectomy on
the left side, I realized as the apostle Peter said to Jesus, "Lord, to whom shall I go?!" With all of my heart I returned to the God of my childhood.
Three months after the mastectomy, my husband left me. Five years later, in 1976, the same condition appeared in my right breast and a semi-radical procedure was
performed. I had Christ back in my life and a new, loving and supportive husband that I had been married to for almost a year, to get me through this life
changing procedure.
Almost immediately following the second mastectomy and for years after that, God has led me to comfort and counsel women who were facing or had undergone breast
removal.
Today, at the age of 85, I have a "breast cancer survivor" ministry at Calvary Christian Center. If you are in need of support, please feel free to call the
church office to get connected with me.
